Ariana Grande Responds To Bette Midler’s ‘Whore’ Comments 

 

 

Ariana Grande took to Twitter Tuesday evening (Nov. 25) to respond to Bette Midler’s comments regarding about her image.
In case you missed it, the three-time Grammy winner said: “It’s terrible! It’s always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, a very wholesome voice, slithering around on a couch, looking so ridiculous,” Midler told The Telegraph. “Trust your talent. You don’t have to make a whore out of yourself to get ahead. You really don’t.”
The “Love Me Harder” singer handled the diss like a pro, choosing to honor her idol and make a plea for the Hollywood veteran she grew up watching.
“Bette was always a feminist who stood for women being able to do whatever the F they wanted without judgement!” Grande tweeted. “Not sure where that Bette went, but I want that sexy mermaid back!!! Always a fan no matter what, my love.”

 And no, the pop star’s love of “The First Wives Club,” in which Midler stars, has not diminished.

 Bette, moved by Ariana’s display, responded with praise for Grande’s “beautiful voice” and maintained that the young singer doesn’t need a “couch” routine to keep her fame.
