Start and Close a Program

 

1. Click the Start button to open the Start menu.
2. The Start menu shows you a list of recently accessed
programs. To choose one of
them, click its icon.
This option isn’t available if you chose Classic view.
3. Click the All Programs link to see all software programs
installed on your computer.
In Classic view, click the Programs link to see the available software.
4. Click the icon of the program you want to open.
5. After you finish using the program, click the X in the
upper-right corner to close the program.
Save your work before you close the program. Most programs
prompt you to do so, but you should err on the side of caution.
Close the program when you’re done with it to free up resources
and make your computer run faster
